I'd quite like to see a representation of the ARK in system shock as best as the engine will allow, including areas from both Sonic Adventure 2 (Dreamcast version) and Shadow the Hedgehog. The ARK is just missing the groves and SHODAN. Space Colony ARK: Citadel Station makes me think of the ARK, as they are both research labs dabbling in mutations and genetic modification and they both have giant Tachyon laser cannons built into them. I suggest this mod idea because System Shock 1 is a 3D Metroidvania game, with the Deus Ex style augmentations serving in place of suit upgrades and weapons (though you still find progressively better guns). An expansion pack based on Another Metroid 2 Remake is optional. Metroid 1 3D: Based on Zero Mission but done in SS1E's engine with swimming from Ultima Underworld added back in and an improved jumping and climbing system to fit Metroid's platforming nature, though based more on Metroid Prime as that game is 3D. My ideas for System Shock 1 mods would be: Personally I have no hope of making mods as I'm still learning the basics of Marathon modding and how to script levels properly for Tomb Raider.
Nightdive reassessed the game’s development back in February and now is targeting a late 2019 or 2020 launch.I'd like to know what the best mods for System Shock Enhanced Edition are alongside Rewired, but I'd also like to hear ideas for mods as well. The studio is still working on a full remaster of the original System Shock, which has been funded with a $1.35 million Kickstarter. Nightdive recently launched a remastered Forsaken on Windows PC and Xbox One. Additionally, players will have the option of switching between high-resolution Macintosh assets and the original MS-DOS assets.įor those who don’t own System Shock on Steam, the game is on sale for half off ($19.99) until Monday, Sept. The re-release of the 1994 classic will support widescreen formats and resolutions up to 4K, full mouse-look support and re-bindable inputs on keyboard, mouse and joystick support for both Direct3D and OpenGL as well as fan missions and mods. System Shock: Enhanced Edition will be released free as an update to those who already own the original game on Steam. After more than 20 years, Nightdive Studios found the source code for the original System Shock and has used it rebuild it for modern PC hardware.
